Proud of our Dawgs! Tough loss tonight against Ankeny Christian. The girls played their hearts out. Proud to be a Bulldog! #WeRRiverside

Mr Johannsen is a great leader and administrator. He's professional, yet approachable. He's an excellent communicator and collaborator. He makes me feel valued and appreciated. I'm thankful he chose to be a Bulldog!

MHS families: the HS Student Council would like to help the Oakland Food Pantry this week as they are running short on items. We are asking for donations of canned or boxed food tomorrow, October 26th, either at school or conferences. Student council will still be hosting the Food Drive the first week of December (more details to come soon) and wanted to help now as there is a need. Thank you all in advance for any donations!

Nick can always be found at extracurricular events. He makes sure to support our students in all aspects. He was even willing to vacuum the floor after Prom. He has really become a member of this community and we are grateful to have him.

When you’re young, your brain is more vulnerable to addiction. Using substances early in life can drastically increase the risk of addiction in adulthood. Drug use can also exacerbate mental health issues.
During Red Ribbon Week, we urge our students to stand strong and say no to drugs and alcohol. If you need support, stop by your counselor’s office at any time. They’re here to help! 👍

Capturing Kids’ Hearts is a program at Riverside that helps strengthen the bond between students, their families, and staff.
CKH encourages student connectedness at home, in school, and within the community. The program provides families with ideas and activities to help them grow a child’s character. And school staff receive professional development to help them build their capacity in being more intentional about connecting with kids and each other.

Mr. Johannsen has been there for both of Tavens breaks at school. He sat and held this broken leg for 45 minutes while they waited for me to get to school and the ambulance crew to get him loaded up and to the hospital. He just has always been in the right place to help take care of Taven. He has also been a great influence on Taven. One of the pictures of them is after a rough day wrestling for Taven sometimes saying nothing at all just being there is the best coaching.
The Moore family definitely appreciates all he has done for our kids.
