Ensuring the safety of our students and staff is our top priority when it comes to making decisions based on winter weather.
When a decision is made, it will be communicated to our families as quickly as possible. If school is delayed or canceled, the goal is to notify the community no later than 6:00 AM. If school will dismiss early, we hope to communicate that no later than noon.

Food drive update:
Our student council set a goal for 5,000 food item donations and $5,000 raised for a total of 10,000 items and money combined for the Riverside Food Pantry.
We are currently at 8,900 in donations and would love to hit our goal of 10,000 by the end of the day on Monday, December 11th. If you would like to donate, please reach out to kharris@riverside.k12.ia.us or any of the school buildings.
We are very appreciative of all the current donors and all those who have helped along the way!!!

6-8th grade students were challenged to fill the language arts doors with food to donate to the food pantry. They definitely succeeded!

Students and their families have options when it comes to driver education. Riverside CSD makes such training available to our students through private companies or the Parent-Taught Driver Education program.

Fourth-graders at Carson Elementary received a lesson about soil from Laura Monson, the County Education Coordinator, who also commended students Sidney Reed and Aleah Linson for their outstanding work in the CDI poster contest!
Students capped off the lesson by enjoying a delightful “dirt cup” treat! 🌟

On Friday, December 1st, Miller Electric in partnership with IWCC hosted a career day at their corporate headquarters in Omaha, NE. Students had the opportunity to learn the opportunities provided in commercial electrical installation.

Mrs. Plagman's third grade class has been working on solving two-step story problems in math. This week they completed an Info gap activity. Half the students had the problem card and the other half had the data card. They had to work together as math detectives using the information they had to solve the problem together. What a great group of mathematicians!
