Riverside Community School District announces the kickoff of its Riverside PRIDE Capital Campaign
Key Messages: Investing in Ourselves, Strengthening the Economy, Providing a Better Quality of Life, and Building on Local Assets
The Riverside PRIDE Capital Campaign is a collaborative effort between the Riverside School District and the cities of Oakland, Carson and Macedonia. It will generate funding in support of positive experiences for current and future students, staff, alumni, and the community through the completion of identified infrastructure development projects. Small towns and rural communities throughout the United States are looking for ways to strengthen their economies, provide better quality of life, and build on local assets. This project provides an opportunity to strengthen economic growth, increase existing social capital and provide infrastructure development that positively impacts all these cities and the school district. High quality educational opportunities and access to physical infrastructure play an important role in developing rural communities and helping them overcome their challenges. This project is designed to enhance existing community assets by encouraging growth by supporting new infrastructure projects. The campaign will generate funding to support positive school and community experiences for current and future students, staff, alumni, and community.
The Riverside Pride Capital Campaign Goals:
1) Maintenance of a safe and high-quality environment for academic, co-curricular,
and extracurricular activities.
2) Completion of one-time facility improvements needed to promote growth and success in the community and school.
3) Lasting impact through a legacy of positive academic and economic growth for future generations of the Riverside communities.
Riverside Community School District may be small, but we are large in heart and pride. We are a rural school district with 718 students inside a tri-community area that has deep roots and history along the Nishnabotna River. The country-side here is filled with cornfields, farms, and youth with extremely bright futures. Since 1993, when area schools combined into Riverside Community School District, we’ve worked to build a positive culture that includes results in the classroom, outcomes on the playing field, and emphasis on quality STEM and Fine Arts programming.
“Riverside appreciates the generosity of our community. Through donations from individuals, families, and businesses we are working to make needed facility improvements to support a safe and high-quality environment for academic, co-curricular and extracurricular programming for current and future students and supporters of Riverside. Through these capital campaign improvements, we show our commitment and resolve to continue building the legacy of Riverside. #WeRRiverside” Superintendent Tim Mitchell.
The Total Cost Estimate for Phase 1 & Phase 2 is $1,150,000. The Total Cost Estimate for Phase 1, 2 & 3 is $1,450,000. Pre Launch activities have generated a Total Cash Commitment of $744,979, which is 65% towards the Phase 1 & 2 goal and 51% toward Phase 1, 2 & 3.
This capital campaign will be completed through a combination of current district funds, private donations, and foundation dollars.
