Job Title: Assistant Grade 6-12 Principal and Special Education Director

Job Summary: To provide administrative support in Grade 6-12 building under the direction of the Grade 6-12 Building Principal. To assist administration, staff and students in identifying and implementing the special education program that meets the needs of the district's overall vision for all students. Oversee, support and coordinate all aspects of the instructional and administrative needs of the special education program. The Assistant Grade 6-12 Principal and Special Education Director will align practices and be evaluated with Iowa’s School Leadership Standards and Criteria.

Qualifications:

  1. A master’s degree in secondary or PK-12 Administration with a valid Iowa Administrative Certificate is the minimum requirement
  2. Extensive experience in the areas of instructional and administrative needs of a special education program
  3. Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills
  4. Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational and project management skills; sound judgment; initiative; flexibility; detail-oriented
  5. Ability to work cooperatively with staff
  6. Ability to communicate effectively

Work Days: 210

Job Title: Curriculum Director and Instructional Coach

Job Summary: The Curriculum Director will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of the district’s curriculum and instructional services, assessment, research and evaluation services. The Director ensures that the district/school education objectives are aligned to state frameworks and to instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement and instructional excellence. The Curriculum Director will align practices and be evaluated with Iowa’s School Leadership Standards and Criteria.

QualificationsThree years teaching experience and one year teaching experience in Riverside. A master’s degree with a valid Iowa Certificate is the minimum requirement; Previous experience as a curriculum director is preferred; Extensive experience in the areas of instructional and administrative technology applications; Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills; Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational and project management skills; sound judgment; initiative; flexibility; detail-oriented; Ability to work cooperatively with staff; Ability to communicate effectively; such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Work Days: 190 days with Additional Contract Days
