The Riverside Boys' Middle School Basketball Team has been identified as a close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes) to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. No students have been identified as sick, and no students are showing symptoms. We are asking parents to pick up their students at school today.
As a precaution and in alignment with guidance, Pottawattamie Public Health has recommended that the entire team remain home for 14 days since their last contact with the confirmed COVID-19 case.
We have determined this date to be Thursday 11-26-2020 as when middle school basketball players can return can return to normal daily activities. The date they can return to school and we will resume face to face instruction will be Monday 11-30-2020. These dates will change if the health status changes for any student.
Administration will be in contact with teachers who are impacted. Students will be accessing their classes via email to you the teachers, and by Google Classroom.
We are working with Pottawattamie Public Health to keep our school district and community safe.
We continue to follow all guidance for PK-12 schools as determined by the Department of Health and Human Services, Iowa Department of Education and Center for Disease Control (CDC)
We adhere to strict mitigation protocols at school (Face Covering Mandate, Social Distancing and Hand Sanitizing)
We clean and disinfect the facility regularly per Health Department Guidance.
Thank you for understanding, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release the names of the individuals with COVID-19. We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you.
