NAMI Southwest Iowa has some great news! We have been awarded a grant from the mental health CARES Act dollars available through the Southwest Iowa MHDS Region to provide Community Connections.
Community Connections consists of three psycho-educational/support virtual programs, each aimed at a separate audience: students, school staff and parents. The sessions will be held weekly online through video conferencing to ensure accessibility throughout the nine-county region. This is a new program being developed specifically to address the mental health needs of our communities as children return to school during the pandemic. At a time when almost everyone is struggling with mental health needs, education and support are critical.
Community Connections will begin the week of October 5th. Anyone interested in signing up can visit the NAMI Southwest Iowa website at www.namisouthwestiowa.com or call 712-542-7904.
