Grant Resources Will Available for Staff and Students in Riverside
Riverside has been awarded three grants that will provide resources for our students and staff due to the impact of COVID-19:
Southwest Iowa Region Mental Health and Disability Services has awarded Riverside $45,850.00 from Mental Health CARES Act dollars. These dollars are to fund equipment purchases, additional staff expenses and program expansion costs necessary to provide services to students and staff related to the impact of COVID-19. The items approved will help the district assess and address the social, emotional and mental health of our students and staff.
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has awarded Riverside $5,000.00 as part of the Local Produce and Protein School Equipment Program. The district food service department will use the funds to purchase equipment needed to prepare meals differently either in school or remotely due to the impact of COVID-19.
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has also awarded Riverside $6,000.00 as part of the Local Produce and Protein School Food Program. This award will allow the resources to be utilized to purchase locally grown food items. The food service program can purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables from approved local providers to be used in our school lunch program.
