Important Information for the start the 2023-2024 School Year

• 2023-2024 Riverside School Registration is Tuesday August 8, 2023 at the Middle/High School ( 18997 Hwy 59, Oakland, IA ) Commons Area.  The Registration will run 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

• For specific school questions please feel free to contact the school: Oakland Elementary Lori Nisley (712-482-6296), Carson Elementary Jeff Karros (712-484-2212) and Middle/High School Penny Anderson (712-482-6464)

• For Information on Transportation-Please contact Nick Bates at (712-482-6215) 

• Dr Wiechmann from Pottawattamie County Sports and Family Chiropractic will be at the MHS on August 8th from 5:00pm-7:30pm for Extracurricular Activity Physicals.  

• 

• Open House for the 2023-2024 school year will be on Monday August 21, 2023. 

• School begins on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 with Early Dismissal.

• Wednesday August 23, 2023, Thursday August 24, 2023, and Friday August 25, 2023 will be Early Dismissal.

• All Wednesdays will be Early Dismissal for the 2023-2024 school year.

•  Early Dismissal Times: 

• Oakland Elementary & Carson Elementary Schools: 2:25 PM         

• Grade 6-12 Middle/High School: 2:20 PM

Please Read!

Please complete your 2023-2024 National School Lunch Program Application for Free & Reduced Price School Meals/Milk that can be found at the link provided below prior to the Tuesday August 8, 2023, Registration Day.  Please download from the link provided and then you will need to fill out and bring or mail it to Riverside Middle/High School, 18997 Hwy 59; Oakland, IA  51560.  We would like to limit the lines that have formed previous years during Registration Day.  If you have any questions, you can request assistance over the phone at 712-482-6464. 

The National School Lunch Program will not be providing free meals for all students for the 2022-2023 school year.  To be eligible for Free/Reduced Meals/Milk you must be certified by completing and submitting an application.
